Best Candle In Parker Colorado | 10 Candle Care Tips

10 tips to extend the life of your candle

Following these care instructions can help maximize the lifespan of your candle while ensuring a safe and enjoyable burning experience:

  1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting the candle, ensure the wick is trimmed to about 1/4 inch in length. Trimming prevents excess smoke and ensures a cleaner burn.

  2. First Burn: Allow the candle to burn until the wax melts to the edges of the container. This process helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's lifespan.

  3. Burn Time: Avoid burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish the flame and allow the candle to cool before relighting it.

  4. Placement: Place the candle on a heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable materials, and out of reach of pets and children.

  5. Extinguishing the Flame: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish it. Avoid using the lid to put out the flame as this can create smoke and soot.

  6. Realign the Wick: After extinguishing the flame and while the wax is still liquid, center and straighten the wick to ensure an even burn during the next use.

  7. Storing Candles: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration or softening of the wax.

  8. Avoid Drafts: Keep candles away from areas with drafts as this can cause uneven burning and dripping of wax.

  9. Keep Clean: Regularly clean the candle container by removing any debris or wick trimmings that might accumulate on the surface of the wax.

  10. Discontinue Use: Stop using the candle when there is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of wax left at the bottom to avoid damaging the container and to ensure safety.
